On March 13 to 15, SciLifeLab’s International Advisory Board visited SciLifeLab for the third time. The board visited SciLifeLab’s venues in both Stockholm and Uppsala to evaluate the operations and give advice on how we can develop even further.
Before their visit, the board had received an extensive report of SciLifeLab’s operations regarding both research and infrastructure, which was used as a foundation for the visit to build upon. Arriving on Wednesday evening, March 13, the board spent the following two days with representatives from the infrastructure platforms, members of our research community and an array of constellations ranging from rectors to PhD students.
Thursday, March 14, was spent at SciLifeLab Campus Solna where the board met with, among others, the Campus Solna committee, SciLifeLab Fellows, SciLifeLab Platform Directors, the National SciLifeLab Committee and host university representatives. On Friday, March 15, the board visited SciLifeLab in Uppsala, where they received thorough presentations of e.g. the DDD program, the execution of SciLifeLab’s national mission, our Research Community Programs and future plans. The meetings and presentations were followed by discussion and writing sessions as the board will deliver a report of their reflections and recommendations later on.
The advice of these top-level scientists and science leaders of the international advisory board will provide key guidance to the Management Group and the National Board when deciding on the long-term direction of SciLifeLab. An invaluable visit we are thrilled to have hosted once again!
