Survey on tools and services developed by the platforms and researchers

The Data-Driven Life Science (DDLS) program, coordinated by SciLifeLab and funded by the Knut and Alice Wallenberg Foundation, will operate a national life science data platform which will be built and operated by the SciLifelab Data Centre. The aim of the platform is to provide a technical environment for data-driven life science, with tools, systems, databases, support functions and other components linking up data, researchers and e-infrastructures.

Many of the components of the data platform will be developed by the SciLifeLab Data Centre, but it is also meant to be an environment supporting the SciLifeLab infrastructure to develop IT-based services or tools, and to host that. In the long term, we would like to see much content on the data platform developed and operated by the infrastructure and the wider research community.

With this survey on tools and services, we would like to ask you to to help us identify:

Web-based data-centric tools, including but not limited to: tools for data exploration, data annotation, analysis, visualisation, data sharing, data aggregation from various sources
Large databases with a web interface, including compute-intensive and large-volume tools and datasets
Solutions that can be beneficial and/or used by a wide research audience

This short survey will allow us to;

Discover solutions developed on a national level, across the life science fields.
Support SciLifeLab infrastructure in making IT-based services available using Data Centre operated IT resources, and support to host tools and services of internal use for infrastructure units.
To offer our guidance in the development of technical solutions towards data handling and implementation of FAIR.
Identify solutions that offer a pragmatic approach to realising the FAIR principles & feature them in our event series together with our international partners EMBL-EBI, VIB, GoFAIR US, SDSC and AGU.

The survey can be answered on unit or platform level. Please submit your response no later than February 20.
